protecting your watch

  • Your watch has been designed and tested to resist pressures at a submerged depth of 65 feet. We consider this a worst case scenario however your watch is more than robust enough to resist water intrusion if you forget to remove it before jumping in a pool or taking a shower. We always recommend you remove your watch prior to any submerged water activities.

  • Avoid excessive heat. Your watch will melt at 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Avoid leaving your watch in hot places like inside cars during the summer, on hot concrete in direct sunlight, saunas, the Mojave dessert, etc.

STRAP ADJUSTMENT

To adjust the strap length you will need to either add or remove links. Use a tooth pick to press on one end of the pin that holds the link in place. Press the pin all the way through until it pops out of the other side. After adding or removing links replace the pin. The pin can be inserted from either side of the strap but the barb must be laid flat. Be sure to insert the tapered end first. Check out the video for a demo.

time adjustment

The round dial on the right side of the watch is called the crown. The crown will click in and out of position (approximately 1mm) with a gentle pull and press. In the out position adjust the time by rotating the crown forward or backward. The watch will not operate while the crown is pulled out. Once you have adjusted the time push the crown back in. When you see the second hand ticking you will know the watch is running. To save battery life you can pull the crown out when not in use. The water resistance rating is based on the crown being pushed in.

cleaning

Make sure any sand or dirt is removed with a quick rinse in cold water and then let dry. Next use a small amount of glass cleaner on a lint free cloth and scrub gently until the glass is clean. If you've purchased a watch with design elements that hang partially over the watch face, dip a clean, long bristled artist's paint brush in glass cleaner and use it to scrub the glass. Dry with a cotton swab.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

Place the watch face down on a scratch-proof surface. If you own a watch with design elements that stand off from the face place it face down on a soft folded towel. Use a wide flat-head screw driver (5/16") to remove the battery door. Rotate the door 90 degrees to the left to remove it. With the battery door removed you will see the battery and battery catch. The catch is a small arm that holds the battery in place and is secured with a small screw. Remove the catch by loosening the screw with a very tiny flat-head screw driver. Be careful not to loose the screw! With the catch removed the battery should fall free from the mechanism. Small tweezers may be necessary. Replace with a new battery (type 364) in the same position as the original. Move the catch to it's original position and tighten the screw then replace the battery door. Be careful not to over tighten.
